FOREST, Virginia - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) office announced the Player of the Week for events completed during the week of Oct. 4-10, on Monday afternoon, Oct. 4. Virginia Wesleyan's women's volleyball player, Abigail Mahoney, was selected as the ODAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week after helping the Marlins go 3-1 on the week. 

Mahoney was a consistent force for the Marlins throughout the week totaling a .357 hitting percentage with 32 kills on 70 attacks, and seven errors. She stepped up at service with six aces on the week and added 12 digs to her sheet. In addition, she added eight blocks.

Mahoney posted nine kills in the three set win over Catholic and added eight in the matches against Eastern Mennonite and Stevenson. Four of her six aces and four of her eight blocks came against Catholic in game one of the doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 9. 

The Marlins take to the court again on Wednesday, October 13, when they travel to Fredericksburg, VA, to face the Eagles from the University of Mary Washington. First serve in the midweek night cap is set for 7 PM.
