BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Glen Pizzanello of the Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team has been named the D3Baseball.com Relief Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on April 8, 2018.

Pizzanello dealt 3.1 winnings over the week, helping the Marlins pick up three more victories and move their win streak to 11-straight games.

The senior tossed the final 1.1 innings in the win over Hampden-Sydney on Thursday en toute to his fifth win of the year (5-0). Pizzanello then threw the final inning in both games against nationally-ranked Roanoke, picking up his third save of the year in game two. Over the course of that time, the Chesapeake, Va. native did not allow a single hit and fanned three batters.

Pizzanello and the rest of the Marlin baseball squad return to action on Tuesday with another nationally-ranked match up, this time against #6 Randolph-Macon. The away tilt will commence at 3:30 p.m.
