Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team moved its win streak to six-straight after downing Greensboro College, 13-3, at Grasshopper Stadium Tuesday evening. With the win, the Marlins are now 14-7 on the season.
Brady Fallon got things going in a big way as the senior homered over the left field fence, giving the Marlins a 2-0 lead in the top of the second. One inning later, Marlin of the Week Jacob Pilarski took another ball yard in left field, plating three more.
Runs continued to flow in for Virginia Wesleyan in the fourth as the squad put five more on the board. The first run of the frame came on an error and was followed by a Corey King sacrifice fly. Then it was Randy Neisz's turn to join the home run club as the senior jacked a three-run bomb over the left field fence. The final three runs of the evening came on a wild pitch in the eighth and an error in the ninth.
Jay Crusemire toed the rubber for 7.0 innngs, striking out six and picking up the win. Andrew Lowe would come in for the final 2.0, fanning four Pride runners in the process.
Baseball will return to the diamond with a doubleheader at Bridgewater on Saturday. First pitch of game one will come at 12 p.m.
