Box Score Barrett Breaks School Record against Berry
MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- Senior Tiffany Barrett broke the school record for career kills Saturday against Berry College in a 25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19 loss Saturday.
The Marlins trailed 16-6 in the second set when Barrett sent down three-straight kills to put her at 1,246 career kills, breaking the mark of 1,245 set by current assistant coach Kala Guy (2009-12).
Virginia Wesleyan continued to rally in the set, cutting the deficit to 16-11, but the Vikings put the set away to make a comeback that much tougher.
The third set was all Virginia Wesleyan as the Marlins led throughout, by close to 10 points in some spots.
Barrett finished with 13 kills, giving her 1,252 for her career. Doneisha Hall posted 10 kills while Emilee Pierson tallied 32 assists and Allison Mackley contributed 16 digs.
Virginia Wesleyan (6-9) plays Centre College Sunday at 2 p.m.
