Marlins Sweep Roanoke in ODAC Play

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan College volleyball team started off Homecoming Weekend with a three set Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over Roanoke College, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 on Saturday.

The Marlins won the first set behind two kills from Tiffany Barrett and one from Doneisha Hall after being tied at 20-all.

The next two sets were close late as well, but the Marlins won the final three points of the second set and the final five points of the third set to close out the victory.

Kylah Blackmore had 10 kills for Roanoke (10-5/3-4) while Jessica Block posted 28 assists and Ryan Hedgepeth, 28 digs.

Dare Wright led the Marlins with 13 kills on a .400 hitting percentage, while Barrett contributed 12 kills. Emilee Pierson had 24 assists as Allison Mackley led the way with 18 digs.
