Virginia Wesleyan's offense sparks in route of Marymount

Virginia Beach- After a tough loss to McDaniel a week earlier, the Virginia Wesleyan men's lacrosse team put on an offensive show in a route of the Saints of Marymount University 13-4.

The Saints would strike first in the 1st quarter with a goal from Connor Kellog. The Marlins would answer back with three straight goals contributed by Adam Nycz(East Aurora, NY/Iroquios) and Joe Papetti(Edgewater, Md/South River). The Saints would score one more from Nico Burns to close the quarter with the Marlins leading 3-2.

The second quarter proved frustrating as the Marlins would outshoot the Saints 10-1 only finding the net twice with goals from Juniors Mikey Connors(Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) and Andrew Adamson(Marriottsville, Md/Mount St. Joseph). The Saints made their one shot count and scored 6:01 into the second quarter ending the half with the Marlins leading 5-3.

The Marlins would come out the second half with a fire burning as their offense exploded with 8 goals. The second half was led by senior Travis Puls(Ellicott City, MD/Baltimore Mt. St. Joseph) and Juniors Ian Shankland(Hampstead, NC/John T. Hoggard).

The Marlins outshot Marymount 53-15 and held the Saints to one goal in the second half. Senior Adam Nycz led the marlins with 4 goals and 2 assist on the day, and Junior Andrew Adamson contributed 3 goals and 2 assist.
