Spring 2023: Junior and Co-Captain John Wampler played in all 5 of the spring tournaments, he played as the number two in the first three and the number one in the remaining two. Wampler averaged 80 strokes per 18 holes. His highest place was 16th overall in the Pfeiffer Invitational.
- April 23rd - 25th the team traveled to Greensboro, NC to play in the ODAC men’s championship. Wampler, the #1 for VWU shot 80 in the first round, 76 in the second, and 82 in the 3rd. He totaled 239 strokes through 54 holes and placed 46 overall.
- April 11th the team traveled to Elizabethton, TN to play in the Mountain Empire Intercollegiate. Wampler, the #1 for VWU shot 82 in the first round and 75 in the second. He totaled 157 strokes through 36 holes and tied for 35th overall.
- March 31st - April 2nd the team played in the 50th Camp Lejeune Championship in Camp Lejeune, NC. Wampler, 2nd in the VWU lineup shot 83 on the first day, 81 on the second, and 77 on the third. He totaled 241 strokes through 54 holes and tied for 74th place overall.
- March 20th - 21st the VWU team hosted the Marlins Invitational at Cypress Point Country Club, in Virginia Beach, VA. Wampler played as the number two for the marlins and shot 86 on the first and 81 on the second. He totaled 167 strokes and tied for 24th overall.
- February 27th - 28th the team played in the Pfeiffer Invitational in Ocean Isle, NC. Wampler, the second player in the lineup for VWU shot 80 on the first day and 78 on the second day. He totaled 158 strokes and tied for 16th overall.
Fall 2022: Junior and team captain, John Wampler appeared in all four of the fall 2022 tournaments, playing as the number one in the first and number two in the rest. Wampler averaged 77 strokes per round of 18 holes of golf this fall.

November 18th - 19th: the team played in the NCWU Don Scalf Invitational in Rocky Mount, NC. Wampler, the top player from VWU shot 75 on the first day and 77 on the second day. Totaling 152 strokes tying for 18th.

On September 30th the team played in the Golden Oaks shootout in Fleetwood, PA. Wampler shot 81 strokes placing him 27th overall. The tournament was cut short due to inclement weather and poor playing conditions.

On October 17th and 18th, the team played in Suffolk, VA at #2 in the VSGA intercollegiate tournament. Wampler shot 75 on the first day and 82 on the second totaling 157 strokes placing 17th overall.

The team traveled to Hampden-Sydney, VA October 22nd, and 23rd to play in the Hampden-Sydney Fall invite. Wampler shot 73 on the first day and 77 on the second day totaling 150 strokes and tying for 4th overall.
2021-22: Appeared in seven tournaments playing 16 rounds of golf for the Marlins ... Averaged a score of 78 per round ... Tallied his lowest score of the season, a 72, at the North Carolina Wesleyan University Don Scalf Invitational in September ... Ranked in the Top-25 in the Region during the fall season ... Had 10 rounds of sub-77 scores ... Collected two individual tournament wins, the first at the dual against the Apprentice School, and the second at the Marlins Invitational ... Recorded a fifth-place finish at the North Carolina Wesleyan University Don Scalf Invitational ... Placed ninth at the Camp Lejeune Invitational with a three day total of 228 (+16 - 77/75/76) ... Finished 35th at the 2022 ODAC Men's Golf Championship Tournament during which he closed the tournament with a score of 74 (second lowest score of the season) ...
2020-21: Finished tied for 18th at the ODAC Championship tournament with a total score of 232 through 54 holes of golf.
Personal: John is the team captain of the men's golf team. As well as a member of the Batten Honors College at Virginia Wesleyan. He has earned VASID Academic All-State and ODAC Academic All-Conference recognitions twice.
In high school he was golf team captain for 3 years.
