Spring 2023: Sophomore Joey Gray played in two of the spring tournaments. He averaged 86 strokes per 18 holes. His best finish was 30th overall at the Marlins Invitational.

• April 23rd - 25th the team traveled to Greensboro, NC to play in the ODAC men’s championship. Gray, the #5 for VWU shot 92 in the first round, 86 in the second, and 84 in the 3rd. He totaled 262 strokes through 54 holes and placed 55th overall.
• March 20th - 21st the VWU team hosted the Marlins Invitational at Cypress Point Country Club, in Virginia Beach, VA. Gray played as an individual and shot 86 on the first day and 84 on the second. He totaled 170 strokes and tied for 30th overall. 

Fall 2022: Junior Joey Gray played as the number five in the final fall tournament, the Hampden-Sydney Fall invite in Hampden-Sydney, VA. On the first day, he shot 95 strokes, while dropping six strokes off this day-one total for a score of 89 on the second day. He totaled 184 strokes through two days and placed 31st overall.

2021-22: Appeared in seven tournaments playing 16 rounds for the Marlins ... Averaged a score of 98.19 ... Saw his four best scores come in the last two tournaments of the season at the Camp Lejeune Invitational and the 2022 ODAC Men's Golf Championship Tournament ... Hit a pair of 86's on days two and three of the Camp Lejeune Invitational ... Scored an 85 (lowest score of the season) and an 87 on the second and third days of the 2022 ODAC Men's Golf Championship Tournament ... Had one top-10 finish with a seventh place finish against the Apprentice School ...

Personal: Joey has a 3.88 collegiate GPA and was an honor roll student and Vice President of the CLEAN club in high school.
