The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team defeated Methodist University, 23-10, in a dominant performance.
The Marlins were led offensively by
Keagan Hall and
Thomas Lewis IV, who each recorded five goals.
Zachary Dupill added four goals, while
Ben Andrews,
Logan Czerwinski,
Reef Krug, Carlton Benton,
Johnny Hollinshead,
Zach Seward,
Liam Murphy, and
Miles Fuehler all contributed to the balanced scoring attack.
Virginia Wesleyan started the game strong, scoring the first 10 goals of the contest to take a commanding 10-3 lead by the end of the first quarter. Early strikes from Andrews, Hall, and Dupill set the tone, and the Marlins' aggressive offense kept Methodist from gaining any momentum.
In the second quarter, the Marlins continued to control the pace, adding seven more goals while limiting Methodist to just two. Hall and Lewis each scored multiple times, and Fuehler added a goal of his own, allowing Virginia Wesleyan to take a 17-5 lead into halftime.
Virginia Wesleyan maintained their dominance in the third quarter, outscoring Methodist 3-1. Hall added two goals and Czerwinski contributed another to push the lead further.
The Marlins closed out the fourth quarter with three more goals from Hollinshead, Krug, and Benton, securing the decisive 23-10 victory. Virginia Wesleyan improves to 2-0 overall, showcasing a balanced and high-powered offensive attack.
