The Virginia Wesleyan University men's soccer team (0-0-1) battled to a 1-1 draw with No. 8 Dickinson.
JaMarhe Wills scored the lone goal for the Marlins and great play from the Marlins keeper
Ben Haynes who tallied six saves and played all 90 minutes for the Marlins.
The Devils put the pressure on the Marlins early forcing a save from Haynes in the first 10 minutes of the game. A close contest from both teams in the first half, but Dickinson did better offensively as they outshot the Marlins 5-1, and had a 2-1 advantage in corners take.
After a scoreless opening half, the Marlins struck first in the 53rd minute when
JaMarhe Wills netted his first goal of the season to give VWU a 1-0 lead. The Red Devils, answered quickly, leveling the match in the 58th minute.
Both teams traded chances in the second half, with Dickinson holding a 14-6 edge in total shots and a 7-1 advantage in shots on target.
The Marlins return to action on Sunday, August 31 at1:30 PM when they host the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
