The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team had five members named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District team. The 2025 Academic All-District Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.
The five players are
Laci Campbell,
Alexis Hudgens,
Olivia Knight,
Mackenzie Myers, and
Sarah Prosser.
Laci Campbell had a fantastic season, receiving NFCA Third Team All-American, First Team All-Region, ODAC Player of the Year, and First Team All-ODAC honors. She had a great season, starting all 56 games for the Marlins, with a .389 batting average, 58 hits, four doubles, three triples, and two home runs, totaling 33 RBI. She led the league in scoring with 69 runs, stole a league-high 52 bases, and was only struck out five times in 149 at bats, with a .497 slugging percentage, with an OPS of .994.
Alexis Hudgens played 54 games for the Marlins at shortstop starting in 52, had a .321 batting average, two doubles 17 RBI, and 22 stolen bases.
Olivia Knight was a cornerstone of the team at catcher, she played in 51 games and started in 47, she was third on the team with a .373 batting average, had 47 hits, eight doubles, and six homers, tallied 32 RBI, and she was one of the best catchers in the conference as she caught eight base runner stealing and only allowed 15 stolen bases all season.
Mackenzie Myers had a great season, starting in 53 games for the Marlins, as she was third in batting average at .355, a .989 OPS, recorded 49 hits, 11 doubles, four triples, had three home run for 49 RBI and led the league with 10 sacrifice flies. She was walked 23 times, had a .558 slugging percentage, and stole 26 bases.
Sarah Prosser was one of the best outfielders in the conference, starting in all 56 games for VWU, as a slap hitter she had a .347 batting average, 59 hits, scored 57 runs, had eight doubles, 24 RBI, and stole 36 bases.
