The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team (41-3-1, 21-1 ODAC) claimed their 16th ODAC Title in program history and its second straight with a thrilling 3-2 win over RMC.

Hannah Hearl earned her tenth win of the year, she pitched a complete 7.0 inning game, allowed five hits, two runs, and tallied seven strikeouts.
Laci Campbell was 2-for-3, scored one run, and had one stolen base,
Julia Piotrowski was 1-for-3, scored a run.
Mackenzie Myers was 0-for-2 but had the sacrifice fly RBI to win the game and
Morgan Tucker was 1-for-3, scored a run, and had one stolen base.
In the bottom of the first inning, Virginia Wesleyan jumped out to an early lead with aggressive base running and capitalized on defensive miscues by Randolph-Macon. After two quick outs,
Laci Campbell singled through the right side to get things started.
Morgan Tucker then reached on an error by the shortstop, allowing Campbell to advance to third. The Marlins executed a double steal, with Campbell stealing home and Tucker coming around to score after another error, giving Virginia Wesleyan a 2-0 lead with both runs unearned.
The game remained quiet until the top of the sixth when Randolph-Macon mounted a rally to tie the game. Amanda Lanyon and Naomi Sadler led off with back-to-back singles. Kayla Davis followed with a single of her own, driving in Lanyon for the Yellow Jackets' first run. After a sacrifice bunt by Reagan Hill advanced the runners, Charlotte Boswell delivered an RBI single to left, scoring Sadler and knotting the game at 2-2. The rally nearly continued, but Virginia Wesleyan's defense held strong, catching a runner at home and ending the inning with a strikeout.

Morgan Tucker followed with another single to load the bases.
Mackenzie Myers then came through with a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Piotrowski to score and give the Marlins a 3-2 lead. A pinch-hit flyout ended the inning, but Virginia Wesleyan had regained control.
