The #5 Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team (9-10, 7-3 ODAC) faced #4 Shenandoah University in the ODAC Quarterfinals and lost in a 4-3 battle.
Hovo Madanyan and
Sebastien Muller came up short 6-3 against Dominik Suwak and Keith Orr at #1; but soon after the Rullan Zarraga duo won 7-5 over Shine Tokas and Marvin Kuehnelt at the second spot. The doubles point was decided by court three where the Hornets pulled through in a tiebreaker over
Tudor Vlad and
Frieso ter Schiphorst.

Sebastien Muller avenged his regular season loss to Artem Babiev with a 6-2, 6-2 win to level the match at 1-1.
At #1,
Tudor Vlad fell to Dominik Suwak 6-3, 6-4; and he was followed by
Hovo Madanyan who came up short 6-4, 6-4 to Keith Orr at the fifth line of singles, putting the Hornets just one point away from victory.
Carlos Rullan Zarraga fought back from a set down at the sixth position against Neal Love, winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to bring the score to 3-2. Tying the match at 3-3 was
Rafael Rullan Zarraga, who went to three sets against Shine Tokas as he did earlier in the season, but this time won 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5).
The match came down to
Francis Cabaddu at #3 who fell in a thrilling three set battle against Jovan Cirkovic, deciding the match in favor of Shenandoah 4-3.
