The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team (7-10, 4-6 ODAC) was defeated by No. Washington and Lee 26-4.
Sebastian Reynolds led the Marlins offense scoring one goal and one assist and
Liam Murphy scored two goals in the game.
Zack Tucker recorded the loss, he played 37:56 minutes, allowed 15 goals, and recorded 12 saves.
The Marlins came out ready to battle, answering an early two-goal burst from Washington & Lee with a pair of their own. Sebastien Reynolds sparked the offense at the 10:33 mark with an unassisted strike, and just over a minute later, he connected with
Liam Murphy to even the score at 2-2. Murphy wasn't done, as he added a man-up goal with five minutes to play in the first, assisted by Cooper Seider, bringing the home crowd to its feet and keeping VWU within striking distance at 3-4.
Despite the early momentum, the Generals' depth and relentless attack took control starting in the second quarter.
Parker Lucas provided a brief spark with a solo effort at 4:53 to cut the WLU lead to 9-4, but that would be the final tally for the Marlins as Washington and Lee rattled off 17 unanswered goals the rest of the way.
