The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team (6-9, 3-5 ODAC) was defeated by Roanoke 35-8.
Parket Lucas led the team with two goals and one assist,
Sebastian Reynolds recorded one goal and one assist, and
Jackson Dinger scored two goals.
Zack Tucker registered the loss, he played 21:24 minutes, allowed 18 goals, and had eight saves.
Aiden Freeland came in relief and allowed 17 goals, and seven saves in his 38:36 minutes of play.
The Maroons outscored VWU 12-1 in the first quarter with a goal from
Parker Lucas on a man-up opportunity with an assist from Sebastien Reynolds. Roanoke kept up the pressure and entered halftime with a 24-2 advantage with
Parker Lucas scoring his second goal of the game for the Marlins.
After the break, the Marlins' offense had some good adjustments as Dinger scored the first goal of the third quarter for the Marlins with an assist from
Maddox Coelho. Sebastien Reynolds scored on a man-up opportunity with an assist from
Ben Andrews to bring the score to 25-4. Virginia Wesleyan scored back-to-back goals from
George Psaltis and Jeremiah Madriago to cut the host lead to 25-6.
Jackson Dinger scored his second of the game at the 5:17 mark in the third to make it 27-7.
In the fourth quarter, Roanoke outscored the Marlins 5-1 with a goal from
Liam Murphy assisted by
Patrick Ruffolo. Despite the Marlins' third quarter push, Roanoke went on to win 35-8.
