Women's Track and Field Participates at Lynchburg Alumni Invitational

In the high jump, senior Norah Ciano placed fourth with a clearance of 1.55m, while freshman Maria Plummer finished 16th at 1.35m. 

The javelin saw sophomore Jaiden Mitchell throw 28.51m for 13th, while Ciano took 17th with a mark of 25.93m. 

Kennedy Chapman had a standout performance in the long jump, finishing sixth with a season-best 5.33m. Freshman Anisha Carter placed 16th with a mark of 4.62m.

The shot put saw freshman Mackenzie Swanson place fourth with a mark of 11.45m, while junior Daryl Tucker finished fifth at 11.23m. 

In the women's 100m prelims, Lyric Hoggard clocked a 13.02, placing 16th, while Mekayla Clark finished 26th with a time of 13.49. 

In the 100m hurdles, freshman Anisha Carter recorded an 18.74 finish in 16th place.

 The 200m event saw Kennedy Chapman post an impressive 25.83, finishing 12th overall, with Mekayla Clark placing 24th in 28.11.

In the women's 400m hurdles, sophomore Clarissa Thurston ran a 1:18.16 for a 14th place finish. 

The 800m featured freshman Salya Brown finishing 17th in 2:28.52, while fellow freshman Abby Peck crossed the line in 2:37.42. Brown also shined in the 1500m open, running a personal best of 5:04.17 to place seventh, while Peck secured 14th in 5:16.90.

The throwers also had strong showings. In the discus, junior Daryl Tucker threw 31.70m to place 12th, while sophomore Grace Harriman recorded a 27.50m mark for 18th. 

Kamgaing bounced back in the hammer throw, taking sixth with a personal best of 41.54m. Tucker followed closely in seventh with a PR of 41.02m.
