The Virginia Wesleyan University men's swimming team placed sixth at the ODAC Championship Meet with a score of 148.
Cael Long led the Marlins this weekend, he received Third Team All-Conference for his fifth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly finals with a time of 51.22 in the prelims he was fifth with a time of 50.43, he was 15th in the 200-yard IM finals with a time of 1:59.22, and finished 10th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.75 in the consolation finals.
Mason Pifer finished 21st in the 100-yard backstroke with a record breaking time of 56.56.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the team of Robert Saeger,
Mason Pifer,
Matthew Thomas, and
Cael Long broke the school record and finished in eighth place with a time of 7:30.82.
The 400-yard medley relay team composed of
Mason Pifer,
Cael Long, Robert Saeger, and
Reilly Shaffer broke the school record and took sixth with a time of 3:40.87
Matthew Thomas came in 27th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:20.95 and teammate
Logan Schohn was 28th with a time of 5:23.62.
Matthew Thomas was 25th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.28 and
Logan Schohn was 27th with a time of 1:59.68.
Reilly Shaffer finished 25th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.41.
Robert Saeger came in 29th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.73,
Mason Pifer was 33rd with a time of 23.31,
Reilly Shaffer was 25th with a time of 23.85, and
Jacen Fletter finished 39th with a time of 25.52.
Robert Saeger was 15th in the 100-yard butterfly finals with a time of 52.15 and teammate
Jacen Fletter was 30th with a time of 1:02.90.
The 200-yard medley relay team finished seventh with a time of 1:41.00.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team came in eighth with a time of 3:27.57.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, VWU came in eighth with a time of 1:32.84.
