Men's Basketball Falls to No. 5 Mary Washington

The Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball team (7-3, 2-0 ODAC) was defeated by No. 5 Mary Washington 89-48.

Mary Washington set the tone in the opening minutes, building momentum behind efficient shooting and strong defensive play. Virginia Wesleyan worked to settle into the game offensively, but the Eagles continued to extend their lead and took a 45–28 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, Mary Washington remained in control and gradually widened the gap. The Eagles capitalized on turnovers and converted in transition, while also limiting Virginia Wesleyan's scoring opportunities in the half court. The Marlins continued to compete, but shots were hard to come by as the deficit grew down the stretch.

Amari Moorer led Virginia Wesleyan offensively, finishing with a team-high 12 points while knocking down five field goals, including a pair of three-pointers. Paul Anderson provided efficient minutes, scoring six points on 2-of-3 shooting. T.J. East, Demeir Pollard, and Tykie Jones each added five points, contributing off the bench as the Marlins worked through their rotation.
