VWU Men Cap 2025 with Solid Showing in NCAA South Region

The Virginia Wesleyan men's cross country team closed out its postseason slate with a strong group effort at the NCAA South Region Championships, highlighted by a pair of Marlins finishing just seconds apart at the front of the pack.

Senior Jerry Watson led the charge with a 108th-place finish, clocking 28:11.20 in the 8k. Just two spots behind him was sophomore Casey Black, who crossed in 110th place with a time of 28:12.70, continuing his consistent late-season form.

Senior Ryan Koval delivered the Marlins' third scoring result, placing 121st with a time of 28:34.10. First-year Henning Olofsson rounded out the team's efforts, finishing 159th in 33:05.40 in his first NCAA regional appearance.

The Marlins' blend of veteran leadership and emerging young talent closed the year with solid regional performances and momentum heading into 2026.
