The Virginia Wesleyan men's cross country team turned in a competitive performance at the VSU Cross Country Challenge, placing three runners among the top 15 finishers.

Senior Jerry Watson led the way for the Marlins, finishing 11th in 27:53.58.

Not far behind were Casey Black, who crossed the line in 28:33.04 to take 12th, and senior Ryan Koval, who secured 13th in 28:42.54.

Matthew Hodge completed the VWU scoring effort with a 38th-place finish in 36:53.73.
