The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team (11-4-1, 5-3 ODAC) defeated Roanoke 1-0 on Senior Night. Before the start of the game, the Virginia Wesleyan Men's Soccer Program honored its seven-member senior class that included:
Ryan McAdams,
Tyler Waddell,
Ilan Mejia,
Aaron Deans,
Zach Bittler,
Connor Bryant, and
Skyler Spikes.
The lone goal of the match came in the 30th minute when
Ryan McAdams found the back of the net, putting Virginia Wesleyan ahead 1-0. The Marlins' defense took care of the rest, keeping Roanoke off the board for the full 90 minutes.
Goalkeeper
Ben Haynes recorded four saves in the shutout effort, his composure and communication anchoring a disciplined defensive line that limited the Maroons' chances despite 14 total shots.
McAdams led the offensive charge with two shots, both on goal, while
Mason Wakefield and
Cayden Tappan also applied pressure with quality chances throughout the contest.
