The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team extended their winning streak by defeating Rosemont College 3-1 in their second game of the season.
The Marlins maintained possession for the majority of the game, attempting 10 shots on goal compared with Rosemont's three. Team captain
Alex Moody led the Marlin squad with an early goal three minutes into the first half assisted by
Nolan Schulte and
Ilan Mejia on a corner kick.
Senior
Juan Tovar extended the Marlins lead scoring a goal late in the first half off a cross from
Aaron Deans to put the Marlins up 2-0.
Virginia Wesleyan dominated the second half out shooting the Ravens 11-1. Resulting in the Marlins adding to their lead in the 83rd minute as
Zach Bittler scored on a breakaway goal to put VWU up 3-0. Rosemont's Sean Millelli scored a late goal with a penalty kick to bring the score to 3-1.
