The Virginia Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team (3-6, 1-1 ODAC) was defeated by No. 22 Shenandoah 24-4.
Madison Pfister led the team with two goals and one draw control,
Helen Kennedy-Butler recorded one goal and one assist, and
Michaela Elston had one goal, one ground ball, and caused one turnover.
Brittneyann Hoover started in the net for the Marlins, played the first 33 minutes of the game, and allowed 15 goals, and made nine saves,
Melissa Dolt came in relief and allowed nine goals, and made four saves.
The Hornets scored the first five goals before Elston scored for the Marlins to bring the score to 5-1. Shenandoah outscored VWU 7-1 in the first quarter.
Down 11-1 in the second quarter,
Helen Kennedy-Butler scored a man-down goal to bring the score to 11-2. The Hornets went into halftime with a 13-2 lead.
In the second half, Shenandoah outscored the Marlins 11-2 in the second half.
Madison Pfister scored one goal in the third quarter and her second in the fourth.
