Men's Lacrosse Cruise Past Randolph in 25-9 Win

The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team (5-5, 3-1 ODAC) defeated ODAC opponent Randolph 25-9.

Liam Murphy led the team with six goals, three assists, three ground balls, and caused one turnover, Ben Andrews scored five goals, had one ground ball, and caused one turnover, and Parker Lucas tallied four goals on eight shots. 

Allen Shaw got the win as he started and played 33 minutes, allowed five goals, and made three saves. Shaw improves to 2-1 on the season. 

The Wildcats scored the first goal of the game, but the Marlins responded with a 3-0 run to take a 3-1 lead. The Wildcats scored one goal to cut the lead to 3-2 before the end of the first quarter. 

Randolph scored begin the second quarter to tie the game at 3-3. The Marlins responded to a 4-0 run to take a 7-3 lead. Each team scored two more goals the rest of the first half to give the Marlins a 9-5 lead at the break. 

Coming out of the break, Virginia Wesleyan scored six unanswered goals to lead 15-5 midway through the third quarter. The Wildcats scored back-to-back goals to bring the score to 15-7, but the Marlins scored two more goals before the quarter ended to lead 17-7 heading into the final frame. 

VWU outscored the Wildcats 8-2 in the fourth quarter to seal the 25-9 victory over Randolph.
