Floyd Wells led the team, as he had one assist, six ground balls, one caused turnover, and was 3-for-5 on the faceoff,
Liam Murphy had one goal and three ground balls, and
Sam Edwards recorded one goal, one ground ball, and caused one turnover.
Zack Tucker started in net for the Marlins and recorded the loss, he allowed 15 goals and made eight saves.
The Yellow Jackets started strong, going on an 8-0 run, before the Marlins scored back-to-back goals, a man-up goal from
Liam Murphy assisted by
Floyd Wells, and an unassisted goal from
Sam Edwards. At the end of the first quarter, RMC led 9-2.
Randolph-Macon outscored Virginia Wesleyan 6-1 in the second quarter with the lone goal from
Mark Sprague to give the Yellow Jackets a 15-3 lead at the end of the first half.
The Marlins let in five goals in the third quarter to put the visitors up 20-3 heading into the fourth quarter. RMC outscored VWU 3-1 in the fourth quarter with
Nick Owens scoring an unassisted goal for the Marlins.
