The Virginia Wesleyan Baseball team took a break from conference action to play a previously postponed game against Washington College. They won 14-4 and moved to 11-7 on the season. 
The Marlins struck first by putting two runs on the board in the top of the second. Junior 
Nick Sylvester led off the inning with a single, then 
Keegan Megaro singled and advanced Sylvester. Junior 
Clay Clarke hit a sacrifice bunt to move Sylvester and Megaro to put runners on second and third. Sylvester scored on a wild pitch to give the Marlins a 1-0 lead. Megaro scored on an error that allowed Senior 
Samuel Kasprow to get on base to put the Marlins up 2-0. Washington College tied the game in the bottom of the third with two runs, one hit, and one error by the Marlins. 
The Marlins added two more runs to take the lead in the top of the fifth. Kasprow was walked to start the inning, and two batters later Clarke doubled to put runners on first and third. Senior 
Micah Fox walked, then stole second, and Clarke stole home on a double steal, to give the Marlins a 4-2 lead. 
The Marlins added four more runs in the top of the sixth. Megaro reached first because of a throwing error which allowed him to get to second. One batter later, Sophomore 
Marcell Whitfield reached on a fielder's choice which got two Marlins on base. First-year 
Nathan Bryant reached first on an error that scored Megaro and Whitfield to extend the Marlins lead to 6-2. Kasprow walked and later Clarke singled to score Bryant and Kasprow to increase the Marlins lead to 8-2. Washington College added two runs of their own in the bottom of the seventh to bring the score to 8-4. 
The Marlins scored six runs in the top of the ninth. Leading off the inning was Clarke who walked. Senior 
Michael Burton Jr. singles that advanced Clarke and advanced to second and third on a passed ball. Fox was hit by a pitch to load the bases, and one batter later Sylvester walked to score Clarke. Megaro was then hit by a pitch that forced Burton Jr. home and first-year 
Jason Caccavaro pitch hit for Whitfield and walked to score Fox and bring the score 11-4. Bryant flew out to second base which scored first-year 
Trevor Sheets who pitch ran for Sylvester. Two batters later, Senior 
Thomas Crandall singled to score Megaro and put the Marlins up 14-4. 
Leading for the Marlins offensively was 
Clay Clarke who was 3-for-5 at-bat with a double, scored two runs, stole a base, and had two RBI, 
Keegan Megaro was 2-for-4, scored three runs, and one had RBI, and 
Thomas Crandall was 1-for-5, but had two RBI.
The Marlins play again Wednesday, March 20th at home against the defending National Champions and ODAC opponent the University of Lynchburg.
