Box Score The Virginia Wesleyan University Baseball team (2-3) fell 10-1 to Huntingdon College their second day in Alabama.
After leading the game off with a single by Micheal Burton Jr,
Thomas Crandall was then hit by a pitch.
Micah Fox grounded into a double play which resulted in both him and Crandall being called out. Chris Mitchell Jr then flew out to left field which ended the Marlins first inning.
The Hawks led off their game with a walk before the next three batters would strike out.
In the top of the second
Nick Sylvester was hit by a pitch before
Sam Saunders struck out and Sam Kasprow lined out for the second out. After
Josh Goodrich got on base by a fielder's choice,
John Bastiaans reached second but
Nick Sylvester was called out at third to end their top of the second.
After getting two hits which included a two-run home run the Hawks scored 3 runs in the bottom of the inning.
Two quick outs started the top of the third, Chris Mitchell Jr singled to center field before 2 were left on base. The bottom of the inning included 3 runs on 2 hits with 1 error for the Hawks. The Marlins got some runs on the board in the top of the 4th when
Josh Goodrich flew out to right field which allowed
Sam Saunders to score.
The Hawks scored 4 more runs on 8 more hits over the next 5 innings to end the game.
The Marlins end their trip to Alabama tomorrow where they play Mississippi University for Women at 12 pm before they host their first home game on Tuesday against St. Mary's College of Maryland.
