The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team (3-20,1-15 ODAC) fell to conference opponent Randolph College 58-40.
Grace Harriman led the Marlins with nine points, shooting 1-for-3 from the 3-point line, 4-for-13 from the field, and 3 rebounds, and
Jada Norman also hit nine points for the Marlins, shooting 3-for-10 from the field, and 2-for-7 from the 3-point line.
Mekayla Clarke, Norman, and Harriman all had 2 steals leading to attacking opportunities for the Marlins

- The Wildcats shot 24-for-60 (40.0%) from the field, 4-for-15 (26.7%) from beyond the arc, and 6-for-10 (60.0%) from the free throw line, while the Marlins shot 15-for-49 (30.6%) from the field, 4-for-17 (23.5%) from beyond the arc, and 6-for-10 (60.0%) from the charity stripe
- The Wildcats had the advantage in the post, outrebounded the Marlins 42-31, and had 34 points in the paint compared to the Marlins 14.
How It Happened:
A low-scoring first half saw the Wildcats hold a 16-4 lead after the first frame.
In the second quarter, the Marlins managed to put 8 more points on the board and the Wildcats put up 13 at the end of the half to give the Wildcats a 29-12 lead.
Out of the break, the Wildcats put up a three by Kylie Stark, and a fast break layup by Jessica Jennings giving them 34 points, but the Marlins then got a foul called putting Mekayala Clarke at the line for two, making both of her free throws to cut the lead to 34-14. The Wildcats held a 45-26 lead heading into the final frame.
The Marlins outscored the Wildcats 14-13 in the fourth quarter, but Randolph's defense held strong and sealed the 58-40 win.
