The Tigers shut out the Marlins in the first quarter to lead 7-0.
After going down 9-0, the Marlins got on the board as
Daniel Auxier scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 9-1. The Tigers added two more goals before the break to lead 11-1.
Virginia Wesleyan came out of halftime strong, with an unassisted goal from
Mark Sprague to bring the score to 11-2. Hampden-Sydney scored three more goals the rest of the third quarter to lead 14-2.
The Tigers outscored the Marlins 6-1 in the final frame, as
Mark Sprague scored the lone goal from VWU. Hampden-Sydney went on to win 20-3.
