The Virginia Wesleyan baseball team (4-16-1, ODAC) fell to Randolph-Macon in extra innings, 7-5.
Randolph-Macon took the lead first with two runs in the top of the third inning, but the Marlins answered with five runs in the the inning. Trent Hanchey hit a three-run homer to right-center that scored Sam Kasprow and Thomas Crandall to make it 3-2. Then Tanner Clements hit a two-run homer to center field that also scored Matt Sinko and gave the Marlins a 5-2 lead.
The Yellow Jackets added a single run in the top of the 5th, 6th, and 8th to tie the game at 5-5.
Finally, in the top of the 12th, the Yellow Jackets scored two runs to make it 7-5 and eventually won the game.
Trent Hanchey went 2-for-5 and scored three RBI with a three-run homer. Tanner Clements went 3-for-6, scored two RBI, and with a two-run homer.
Micah Fox started the game for the Marlins, pitching 2.0 innings while allowing four hits, one walk, two runs, and getting two strikeouts. The loss goes to Cam Nolet pitched 2.2 and allowed three hits, one walk, and the final two runs. He also earned two strikeouts.
