Game Recap: Softball |

Softball Falls to No. 3 Salisbury Univesity

The No. 7 Virginia Wesleyan softball team went 0-2 against the No. 3 Salisbury Seagulls. The Marlins lost 3-1 in game one and 8-3 in game two. 

Game one:
The Seagulls got on the board first in the fourth inning scoring one run. 

The visitors scored in the fifth and sixth before the Marlins got on the board in the bottom of the sixth. Caitlin Myers doubled down the right field line to start the inning, then Alison Pollack doubled to left field to score Myers from second. 

The Seagulls went on to win the game 3-1.

Sarah Prosser went 2-for-4 at bat and teammate Alison Pollack went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Game Two: 
Salisbury kept up the offensive pressure in the second game as they scored on in the first, then scored six runs in the second to lead 7-0 after two. 

The Marlins fought back in the bottom of the fourth as Julia Piotrowski singled to start the inning, followed by a double by Madison Hudson to right center field that put runners on first and third. Pollack doubled to right center to score Piotrowski and advance Hudson to third. Myers grounded out to the shortstop but scored Hudson and advanced Pollack to third. Haley Sadler grounded out to shortstop scoring Pollack to cut the Seagulls' lead to 7-3. 

The Seagulls added one run in the top of the sixth to lead 8-3 before the game was called due to darkness.

Alison Pollack led the team in game two going 2-for-2 at bat, scored one run, and had one RBI. Caitlin Myers and Haley Sadler each went 0-for-2 and tallied one RBI.
