Khai Seargeant hit a season-high with 27 points shooting 9-for-15, shooting 2-for-5 from the field, with three assists, two rebounds, and two steals, Miles Wallace registered 11 points shooting 4-for-9 from the field, three rebounds, four assists, and one steal, and Amari Moorer tallied 11 points shooting 5-for-9 from the field, with seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

The Marlins held a ten-point lead for the first five minutes of the second half, but the Maroons rallied with a 9-0 run to cut the lead down to 45-44. The two teams traded points until the Marlins went on a 6-0 to lead 60-50 at the 4:28 mark. Virginia Wesleyan made clutch shots to seal the 70-58 win over Roanoke.
