The Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball team (9-1, 3-1 ODAC) defeated Roanoke 70-58. 

Khai Seargeant hit a season-high with 27 points shooting 9-for-15, shooting 2-for-5 from the field, with three assists, two rebounds, and two steals, Miles Wallace registered 11 points shooting 4-for-9 from the field, three rebounds, four assists, and one steal, and Amari Moorer tallied 11 points shooting 5-for-9 from the field, with seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal. 

Keys to the Game:

• The Marlins shot 26-for-61 from the field (42.6%) and 7-for-17 (41.2%) from beyond the arc, while the Maroons shot 21-for-43 (48.8%) and 3-for-10 (30%) from three-point territory.
• VWU scored 18 points off turnovers compared to Roanoke's eight, scoring nine second-chance points compared to the visitors' two. 
• Virginia Wesleyan outscored Roanoke 36-28 in the paint. 

How It Happened:

A slow start for both teams as the game was tied at 7-7 at the 12:05 mark in the first half. The Marlins went on a 7-1 run to take a 14-8 lead.

VWU kept a two-possession lead until the Virginia Wesleyan outscored the Maroons 7-0 to lead 31-18 with 3:08 left in the first half. The Marlins led 36-25 at the end of the first half. 

The Marlins held a ten-point lead for the first five minutes of the second half, but the Maroons rallied with a 9-0 run to cut the lead down to 45-44. The two teams traded points until the Marlins went on a 6-0 to lead 60-50 at the 4:28 mark. Virginia Wesleyan made clutch shots to seal the 70-58 win over Roanoke.
