The Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball team (6-0) defeated non-conference opponent Regent University 100-42.
Miles Wallace led the offense scoring 16 points shooting 6-for-6 from the field, 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, had two steals, two assists, and four rebounds, Elijah Gardner scored 15 points shooting 5-for-7 from the field, and 4-for-6 from three-point territory had two steals, three assists, and three rebounds, and Jordan Crump tallied 14 points shooting 6-for-8 from the field, had three rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
Keys to the Game:
- The Marlins outscored their opponents by forcing turnovers that led the 34 points compared to the Royals eight.
- VWU recorded 30 fast break points compared to Regents' five.
- Virginia Wesleyan had the advantage in the paint as they outscored the visitors 36-16.

How It Happened:
The Marlins quickly jumped out to a 12-2 lead over the Royals, but Regent fought back going on a 4-3 run to cut the lead to 15-6. VWU found their groove and led 31-11 midway through the first half.
Virginia Wesleyan kept up the pressure and found themselves up 54-19 at the conclusion of the first 20 minutes of play.
Regent offense was better in the second half but the Marlins outscored the visitors 46-23 in the second half to seal the 100-42 win over the Royals.
