Women's soccer (8-3, 4-0 ODAC) hosted Averett University and were 3-0 victors in a game where the Marlins offense really clicked.
Marlins offense registered nine shots in the first half. Their constant pressure on goal was remarkable and caused the Marlins to hold possession for a good majority of the first half.
In the 2nd half, the Marlins registered 19 shots. The first goal of the game came in the 70th minute when
Julia Marrone assisted
Grayson Yeager to put the Marlins up 1-0.
In the 80th minute,
Alaina Alston scored from inside the box to put the Marlins up 2-0.
In the 88th minute,
Kennedy Soliday scored from outside of the box on the near sideline. Soliday placed a ball that just snuck into the near post-side of the net to put the Marlins on top 3-0.
The Marlins will hit the road next Wednesday to head to University of Lynchburg. The game will begin at 4:00 PM on October 11th.
