The Virginia Wesleyan University women's volleyball team (17-2, 7-0 ODAC) defeated Shenandoah 3-1. The Marlins won set one 25-12, lost 25-21 in set two, and won the final two sets 25-8 and 25-12.
A tight start to the match, as both teams were deadlocked at 6-6, but the Marlins went on a 4-1 run to build a slight advantage at 10-7, but that was just the start of a Virginia Wesleyan's rally, that saw them score ten straight points to take at 20-8 lead. The Hornets went on a 3-0 run, but the Marlins took the first set 25-12.
The Hornets rebounded, building an early 10-3 lead in the second set, but the Marlins countered with a 9-2 run to tie the set at 12-12. VWU outscored the host 5-3 to lead 17-15 until Shenandoah went on a 7-2 run to lead 22-19. The Hornets went on to win the second set 25-21.
With the two teams tied at one set apiece, whoever won the third set would have a huge advantage moving forward. The Marlins came out on fire, going on an 11-2 run to start the set. The Hornets responded with a 4-3 run to cut the lead to 14-6. However, VWU went on a monster 11-2 run to win set three 25-8.
In the fourth set, Virginia Wesleyan kept up the pressure and built a 14-4 lead. The Hornets tried to chip away at the Marlins lead, but could not string together a large enough rally, and the Marlins won the fourth set 25-12.

Morgan Ludovici registered seven kills, with a .167 hitting percentage, six digs, and five service aces, and
Hannah Smith tallied ten kills, with a .259 hitting percentage, 14 digs, and four block assists.
Haley Sutton led the team with 29 assists, had nine digs, three service aces, and one kill, and
Cara Caruso tallied 10 digs, five service aces, and two assists.
