Women's Soccer (7-3, 3-0 ODAC) hosted Randolph-Macon College in an ODAC conference game. The Marlins won 3-0 in a well-played game.
The Marlins attack sprung momentum on offense early in the game. The Marlins were awarded a free kick from a few yards outside of the penalty box in the 15th minute. Forward
Alexis Miller then hit a high shot which sailed into the back of the net to put the Marlins up 1-0.
The Marlins continued an assertive attack and managed to register 11 shots in the first half.
In the 61st minute,
Julia Marrone shot a bouncing ball in the box that beat the Yellow Jackets goalie high to put the Marlins up 2-0.
In the 80th minute,
Tori Green played a phenomenal pass to
Megan Setlak on the right wing, to give Setlak plenty of space to dribble into the box and score putting the Marlins up 3-0.
The Marlins will remain at home on Saturday, October 7th. VWU will take on the Cougars of Averett University at 3:30 PM.
