Women's Soccer Extends Winning Streak with Victory Over EMU

The Marlins (12-3-1, 8-0-1 ODAC) traveled to Harrisonburg, VA and shutout Eastern Mennonite University 5-0.

The Marlins shot on goal 15 times in the first half. Lexi Soteriou, Shyenne Diaz, and Alexis Miller all registered a shot on goal in the first 16 minutes of play.

In the 20th minute, Lexi Soteriou recieved a pass from Alexis Miller and Soteriou shot a ball that flew past the goalkeeper to put the Marlins up 1-0.

In the 32nd minute, Olivia Braunbeck added a second goal to the scoreline. Breacain McClenahan was credited for the assist and gave the Marlins a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

In 50th minute, defender Tyler Wheeler fired a pass to Kalyn Byrd who then struck a shot into the net to put VWU up 3-0 in the match.

In the 60th minute, midfielder Alaina Alston assisted a goal scored by Charlotte Gantt. This goal marked Gantt's second goal on the season, putting the Marlins up 4-0.

In the 65th minute, (Toni) Antonia Mohren scored off of a penalty kick to put the score at 5-0.

The Marlins registered 30 shots in the game, 15 of which were on goal. The Marlins also held the Royals to one shot the entire game.

This shutout win marks Rachel Quigley's 7th shutout on the season and her 12th win.

The Marlins are still 1st in the ODAC conference. The Marlins will return home this Saturday for their final regular season game. They will face Hollins University on October 28th at 2:00 PM.
