ROANOKE, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team defeated the Roanoke College Maroons two to one on Saturday evening in a road game at Roanoke, VA.

FIRST HALF
- The two teams went back and forth on the pitch throughout the first half with neither team finding a goal in the opening 25 minutes.
- The Maroons found the back of the net in the 29th minute taking a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
SECOND HALF
- The Marlins came out of the halftime break hungry and needing to find an equalizing goal.
- It took Virginia Wesleyan until the final ten minutes to find an equalizing goal when Nate Mitchell scored off a pass from Juan Tovar.
- The Marlins stayed aggressive in the remaining minutes of the game and found the go-ahead goal in the final minute of the game as Matthew Goldberg scored off a freekick following a Roanoke foul.
