LEXINGTON, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team fell to the Generals of Washington & Lee University 25-5 on Wednesday evening at Birdsong Field in Virginia Beach, VA.

The Generals scored nine goals, four in the first and five in the second, before the Marlins got on the board at the 7:41 mark of the second quarter. Mark Sprague scored unassisted in a man-up opportunity. WLU added two more goals before the halftime horn to lead 11-1 at the break.
Washington & Lee came out of the break scoring two goals before Joey Rayman connected with Chris Lindemeyer, who scored the second goal for the Marlins. WLU closed out the third quarter with five more goals to lead 18-2 heading into the final 15 minutes.
The Generals opened the fourth quarter with five goals before Rayman connected with the back of the net for his first goal of the game, the teams third. The final seven minutes saw the teams trade a pair of goals with Lindemeyer and Sprague scoring their second goals of the game as the Generals claimed the victory 25-5.
