HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team fell to the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College College 24-7 on Wednesday afternoon in Hampden-Sydney, VA.

The Tigers claimed the early lead scoring four goals to open the first quarter. Virginia Wesleyan got on the score board with their lone goal of the first quarter as Chris Lindemeyer scored off the Jackson Rockhill pass. HSC close the opening frame with five more goals to take a 9-1 lead into the second quarter.
Hampden-Sydney added four goals to start the second quarter before Virginia Wesleyan scored back-to-back goals in less than a minute span. Daniel Auxier scored unassisted, while Joey Rayman scored on a man-up opportunity from a Tommy Faiella pass. The Tigers scored the last goal of the half to take a 14-3 lead into the break.
HSC held VWU off the score board in the third quarter while adding seven goals to their tally taking a 21-3 lead heading into the final quarter.
Virginia Wesleyan scored four goals in the fourth quarter while Hampden-Sydney scored four putting the final score at 24-7. For the Marlins, Jack Butcher (2), Mark Sprague, and Lindemeyer all scored.

The men's lacrosse team is back in action on Saturday, April 16, when they travel to Greensboro, NC, to face the Quakers of Guilford College. Face off is set for 12 PM.
