FERRUM, Virginia - The No. 3 Virginia Wesleyan softball team dropped a pair of games to the Panthers of Ferrum College at FC Bank Field in Ferrum, VA.

INSIDE THE SCORE
The Marlins got on the scoreboard first with a run in the top of the second inning as a Julia Piotrowski single to center field scored Brooke Anderson. 

The Panthers had a big bottom half of the second posting five runs to take a 5-1 lead. VWU added a run in the fourth inning with Piotrowski scoring Karlee Fretz on a double to left center field but left the bases loaded as the teams headed into the fifth. 

Neither team scored in the fifth or sixth innings and VWU added one more run in the top of th seventh with Caitlin Myers scoring off Fretz's single, but the Marlins fell short dropping game one 5-3.
