Box Score 2 VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The No. 9 Virginia Wesleyan softball team won both games in their midweek doubleheader versus the Eagles of the University of Mary Washington on Wednesday afternoon at Tom & Betty Broyles Field at TowneBank Park.

INSIDE THE SCORE
The Marlins got things started off hot in the bottom of the first inning by scoring four runs taking the 4-0 lead. Ariana Rolle, Maria Weddle, Caitlin Myers, and Julia Sinnett all come home for the Virginia Wesleyan.
VWU added three runs in the second inning going up 7-0. Rolle, Weddle and Sinnett each scored again in the second inning with RBI's by Sinnett, Julia Piotrowski, and Karlee Fretz.
The final run for the Marlins was scored by Myers on a Piotowski single to right field.

INSIDE THE SCORE
After a pair of scoreless innings, the Marlins scored in the bottom of the third inning as Julia Sinnett hit a sac fly to left field to score Maria Weddle.
The next half inning later, the Eagles knotted the score at one all with a run in the top of the fourth.
Neither team scored in over the next two innings until VWU broke the tie with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning as freshman Halee Hawkins hit a sac fly to center field to score Krissy D'Arco who came in to pinvh run for Karlee Fretz.

The Marlins are back in action this Saturday, April 2, when they return host the Hornets of the University of Lynchburg in a weekend ODAC doubleheader. First pitch of game one is set for 1:30 PM.
