Madison Heck

Heck is entering her third year as they Virginia Wesleyan head women's lacrosse coach.

In her second season, the team improved going .500 in conference play and having the first winning record in the regular season since 2022. The Marlins improved greatly on the field, increasing their goal output to 188 this season, the most goals scored in a season since 2019. The Marlins' defense was great as well, allowing the lowest goals against (192) since the 2018 season when the team allowed 159 over 15 games. The team was led by First Year Reese Morgenthaler who was named Second Team All-Conference. She is the first Marlin since 2019 to get an All-Conference award.

In her first season as head coach of the Marlins, she led the team to a 5-12 overall record and 3-6 in ODAC play. Secured an eighth seed in the ODAC Conference Championship, with a team that was led by Helen Kennedy-Butler who scored 40 goals and had nine assists, Michaela Elston was second on the team in points with 21 goals, and 15 assists, and Madison Pfister scored 31 goals, and three assists. 

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Georgian Court University and pursued further education at East Stroudsburg University, where she earned a Master of Science in Management and Leadership.

Heck, an accomplished athlete, excelled during her time at Georgian Court University. She was honored as a four-time All-Conference recipient and a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection. Her contributions were instrumental in leading her team to victory, securing the CACC Tournament Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2021. In 2021, she was recognized as the Tournament MVP. Additionally, her exceptional performance earned her the title of IWLCA First-Team All-Region in the same year.

After her successful stint at Georgian Court, Heck continued her athletic journey at East Stroudsburg University. She played a pivotal role in leading her team to become PSAC Champions and Atlantic Region Champions. Her exceptional skills were acknowledged with a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament team.

Before joining Virginia Wesleyan, she coached at Barnegat High School, where she played a pivotal role in securing the team's third consecutive conference championship. Additionally, Heck served as the head coach at 3-point Lacrosse Club, and during the summer of 2019, she successfully coached the T-3 Lacrosse Club.
