Quntashea Lewis is in her 2nd season as the Virginia Wesleyan head women's basketball head women's basketball coach.
In her first season, the women's basketball team accumulated the most wins since the 2018-19 season with a 7-18 improving the team from a 3-22 record in the 2021-22 season.
Lewis joins Virginia Wesleyan University after spending the last three seasons as the head coach of the Salem College Spirit in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Prior to taking over the head coaching role at Salem, Lewis spent the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach at Mount Saint Mary College.
Lewis holds a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in coaching from Salem College. She was a four-year student-athlete for the Spirit garnering numerous awards and accolades. She ranked first in Salem's career history in offensive rebounds (335), defensive rebounds (472) and total rebounds (872). She also ranks second in field goals made (475), points (1,208) and points per game average (20.7). While playing at Salem, Lewis was named Team MVP, Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Salem College Anne Woodward Student-Athlete of the Year, D3Hoops All-Region 3rd Team, and North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association First-Team College Division All-State.
She is no stranger to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference as she was an assistant coach at Eastern Mennonite University from 2016 to 2018.
Lewis and Desiree Driver of Averett University join the league this season as the first African American women's basketball head coaches in ODAC history.
