Andrea Paphites

Andrea Paphites joined the Virginia Wesleyan women's basketball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach prior to the 2017-18 season.

Paphites was a standout player at Virginia Wesleyan, serving as a team captain on the 2015 ODAC Championship squad. It was the first conference title for the Marlins, securing the first NCAA tournament berth for the program since the 1988-89 season. Paphites finished her career as an 80% free throw percentage. An all-around balanced player, Paphites finished her senior season with 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. She pulled down a season-best seven rebounds to go with four blocked shots in the Marlins' first-round NCAA Tournament game against NYU. She was a Third Team All-ODAC honoree as a senior.

Paphites went on to play basketball professionally in Cyprus for one season. Andrea returned to Virginia Beach following the season to help coach Kellam High School basketball clinics as well as AAU girls' basketball teams over the summer.

She was a high school standout at Princess Anne High School where she helped the Cavaliers go 27-4 in her career. Paphites was a Dean's List honoree at Virginia Wesleyan where she graduated in 2015.
