Shaw joined the Marlin men's lacrosse program in the fall of 2021 as a Volunteer Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach. Shaw also fills the role of Director of Lacrosse Operations where he is responsible for helping prepare team logistics for travel and game day operations.
The 2022 season saw the Marlins go 5-11 overall and 2-8 in the ODAC, arguably one of the most difficult conferences nationally in men's lacrosse with teams regularly ranked in the top 20. VWU collected a 61.2% shot on goal percentage with 176 goals scored during the season. Junior Mark Sprague (41) and senior Chris Lindemeyer (30) totaled for 71 goals between the two, with Joey Rayman adding 23. Keeper Josh van Zuylen ranked seventh in the ODAC in saves on the season with 161.
