Chris Hawley

Chris Hawley joined the Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse staff in the summer of 2019.

Hawley made his way to Virginia Beach, Va. by way of Elizabethtown University, where he was the assistant men's lacrosse coach. While with the Blue Jays, he worked specifically with the goalies and man-down defense, while also implementing both on- and off-season strength and conditioning regiments. Over his two year span there, the team won the Landmark Conference Championship both years and the staff was tabbed Coaching Staff of the Year in 2018.

Before Elizabethtown, Hawley took the game of lacrosse across the globe, teaching and coaching in Perth, Australia for a year. He worked with various schools across Western Australia, teaching the fundamentals of the game as well as coaching a youth team.

Hawley is no stranger to the ODAC as played for fellow conference member Lynchburg from 2013 to 2016. The Hornets made it to the NCAA tournament all four of his years playing there, including a trip to the National Championship his junior year. As a goalie, Hawley was named a USILA All-America Honorable Mention in 2015 to go along with First Team All-ODAC honors.
