Amherst College Athletics

Spring 2023: Freshman Jacob Cooper played in four of the spring tournaments. He totaled 84 strokes per 18 holes. His best finish was 22nd place at the Marlins Invitational.

• April 23rd - 25th the team traveled to Greensboro, NC to play in the ODAC men’s championship. Cooper, the #3 for VWU shot 82 in the first round, 82 in the second, and 85 in the 3rd. He totaled 249 strokes through 54 holes and placed tied for 51st overall.
• April 11th the team traveled to Elizabethton, TN to play in the Mountain Empire Intercollegiate. Cooper, the #3 for VWU shot 83  in the first round and 82 in the second. He totaled 165 strokes through 36 holes and tied for 51st overall.
• March 20th - 21st the VWU team hosted the Marlins Invitational at Cypress Point Country Club, in Virginia Beach, VA. Cooper played as an individual and shot 80 on the first day and 86 on the second day. He totaled 166 strokes and tied for 22nd overall.

• February 27th - 28th the team played in the Pfeiffer Invitational in Ocean Isle, NC. Cooper, the fourth player in the lineup for VWU shot 91 on the first day and 85 on the second day. He totaled 176 strokes and tied for 64th overall.
   

Fall 2022: First-year, Jacob Cooper had a showing in three of the four fall tournaments. Averaging 86 strokes per round of 18 holes of golf this fall.

• November 18th - 19th: the team played in the NCWU Don Scalf Invitational in Rocky Mount, NC. Cooper playing as the number 5 from VWU shot 81 on the first day and 93 on the second day. Totaling 174 strokes and placing 44th overall.

• On September 30th the team played in the Golden Oaks shootout in Fleetwood, PA. Cooper played as the number 4 on the VWU team and shot 83 strokes placing 35th overall. The tournament was cut short due to inclement weather and poor playing conditions.

• On October 17th and 18th, the team played in Suffolk, VA at VSGA intercollegiate tournament. Cooper played as the number 5 from VWU shooting 86 on the first day and 87 on the second day totaling 173 strokes tying for 51st overall.
