Peter Slechta begins his second season with Virginia Wesleyan University in 2022-23. He assists with the catchers and infield players as well as serves as the first base coach.
Slechta helped the Marlins post a 16-19-1 overall record in 2022 while going 6-13-1 in conference play, just missing a trip to the post season tournament. Following the regular season, four Marlin athletes earned ODAC All-Conference honors in catcher Matt Sinko, outfielders Jaelen Hines and Trent Hanchey, and pitcher Robert Cook. The Marlins did have one of the top-20 strengths of schedule according to D3Baseball.com.
Slechta graduated from Old Dominion University in 2021 where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education focusing in Sports Management with a minor in Coaching.
