The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team continued its success in the classroom as five Marlins earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) academic honors during the 2026 season. Leading the way was Emma Adams, who was named the NCAA Division III CSC Academic All-America Team Member of the Year and earned First Team Academic All-America honors. Laci Campbell was selected to the Academic All-America First Team, while Sarah Prosser garnered Third Team Academic All-America recognition. Alison Pollack and Olivia Knight joined Adams, Campbell, and Prosser as CSC Academic All-District selections.

Emma Adams headlined the awards after becoming the NCAA Division III Academic All-America Team Member of the Year. The senior sports and recreation management major carried a 3.94 GPA while excelling as one of the nation's top pitchers. Adams earned NFCA First Team All-America honors and became the first player in program history to receive the NFCA Rawlings Gold Glove Award. She finished the season with a 23-1 record, two saves, a 0.63 ERA, and 96 strikeouts in 121.1 innings pitched. Adams led NCAA Division III in strikeout-to-walk ratio (13.71), ranked second nationally in ERA, and helped guide the Marlins to a 50-0 start and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Softball Championship World Series.

Laci Campbell earned First Team Academic All-America honors for the second consecutive season. The sociology and criminal justice major maintained a 3.75 GPA while putting together another outstanding campaign on the field. Campbell was named an NFCA First Team All-American. She started all 52 games for Virginia Wesleyan, batting .386 with 54 hits, 70 runs scored, 37 RBI, and 55 stolen bases. Her speed and consistency helped fuel one of the most explosive offenses in Division III softball.

Sarah Prosser was selected to the Academic All-America Third Team after another strong year both academically and athletically. The graduate business administration student carried a 3.92 graduate GPA and was one of the top outfielders in the ODAC. Prosser started all 52 games and hit .429, collecting 54 hits, 50 runs scored, 27 RBI, and 21 stolen bases while posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Her ability to get on base and create opportunities at the top of the lineup played a key role in the Marlins' success throughout the season.

Alison Pollack earned CSC Academic All-District honors after combining success in the classroom with a productive season at first base. Pollack appeared in 52 games and started 51, batting .397 with 50 hits, nine doubles, eight home runs, and 44 RBI. Defensively, Knight was a steady presence behind the plate, recording 98 putouts and 34 assists while helping guide one of the nation's most dominant pitching staffs.

The five honorees were instrumental in Virginia Wesleyan's historic 50-2 season, helping the Marlins capture another ODAC championship and advance to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship World Series while demonstrating excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
